Signature sets casts
Athol Fugard's 1961 play "Blood stream Knot" will inaugurate the Signature Center's Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theater, proven because one.
The Signature Theater Company has attracted together casts for your initial productions to use within the company's, soon-to-open multi-stage complex, the Signature Center. A team of Gotham legit vets has signed onto join Jane Alexander inside the company's revival of Edward Albee play "The Lady from Dubuque." Thomas Jay Ryan ("Over the following Room, or perhaps the Vibrator Play"), Laila Robins ("Frozen"), Michael Hayden, Peter Francis James, Catherine Curtin, C.J. Wilson and Tricia Paoluccio will all are available in the show, being helmed by David Esbjornson ("The Goat, or Who's Sylvia?"). Story concentrates on just a little party of six couples in which a mysterious, unforeseen guest (Alexander) and her companion (James) arrive. The show, the initial inside the Signature Center's Finish Stage Theater, begins previews Feb. 14 and opens March 5. Inside the venue's Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theater, Colman Domingo ("The Scottsboro Boys") and Scott Shepherd ("Gatz") look inside the two-hander "Blood stream Knot," being helmed by scribe Athol Fugard. The 1961 play concentrates on mixed-race brothers and sisters in Nigeria through the era of Apartheid. Show starts previews Jan. 31 right before a Feb. 16 opening. Meanwhile, Tonya Pinkins ("Caroline, or Change," "Milk Like Sugar") leads the ensemble of artists on tap for "Hurt Village," Signature's world preem from the new follow Katori Hall ("The Mountaintop"). Ron Cephas Manley ("Titus Andronicus"), Saycon Seng-bloh ("Fela!") and Marsha Stephanie Blake ("Joe Turner's Come and Gone") also are the cast.
