Summit Entertainment has bought spec script "Within the Flesh," which Kristin Hahn modified in the teen ghost tale "A Particular Slant of sunshine.InchHahn will produce along "The Twilight Saga" producers Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey.The novel, by Laura Whitcomb, focuses on a youthful lady who died 130 years back whose guilt prevents her motionless on. She falls deeply in love with another wayward spirit, who shows her how you can inhabit a mortal body whose spirit has died.Hahn is creating a go back to writing following a lengthy creating period, including credits like a co-producer on "Time Traveler's Wife" so that as a professional producer of "The Departed" and "The Switch," the second which stars creating partner and longtime friend Jennfier Aniston. Hahn can also be a professional producer around the cancer of the breast-designed "Five," an eternity original movie anthology airing Monday that Aniston directed a segment. Quick Fix? Set Of Windfall From Simpsons Cancellation Might Help Sign Cast

Fox should send RBC Capital Marketplaces analyst David Banks a container. His report today that News Corp is looking at a pot of $750 million that may simply be drawn on when the Simpsons is canceled gives strong ammunition to twentieth century Fox TV in the salary dispute using the voice cast from the lengthy-running animated series. The studio continues to be holding a tough line, insisting on the 45% salary reduction for that stars, while they've been requesting a 30% cut in return for a bit of the after sales. But whatever leverage the cast may have had is virtually gone given how valuable the series could be whether it’s canceled. And there's speculation the stars might accept new deals as soon as in a few days.

For Mexican auds, the doc offers wild, revisionist fun. Apart from the pic's inclusion in this year's Telluride lineup, U.S. release seems unlikely, and yet this unique artifact may actually be more entertaining to those with no knowledge of the subject. For south-of-the-border cinephiles, the Calderon name is synonymous with the lowbrow Santos series and ultra-popular "ficheras" genre -- bawdy sex comedies that, in their own sub-Corman way, sustained the Mexican film industry at its ebb. Through a dizzying array of stills, archival footage and contempo interviews with surviving relatives (a whirlwind that makes subtitle reading a chore), Garcia Besne reclaims respect for the family's myriad contributions, while putting to rest such mysteries as why her grandmother still carries a flame for Ricardo Montalban and what became of a Vatican-defying nudie version of cult hit "El vampiro y el sexo."Camera (color/B&W, HD), Garcia Besne; editor, Besne; music, Anahit Simonian. BBC Worldwide inks French deals

"A Week Without Electricity" is a twist on "The Week the Women Went," which bowed on France Televisions in March, marking the pubcaster's first venture into reality TV. "A Week Without Electricity" will follow people from the same apartment block who have agreed to live without electricity for seven days. "About 80% of our electricity comes from nuclear energy so we think this program will not only entertain, but also make people reflect on current events, notably the Fukushima disaster," said Jean Louis Blot, director of BBC Worldwide Productions France, who describes the show as a hybrid between a documentary and a reality show. The host of "A Week Without Electricity" will live with the block's tenants. Meanwhile, "Romeo and Juliet" is an original format developed by BBC Worldwide France that brings together high-school students from two very different worlds, an upscale Paris neighborhood and an underprivileged Parisian suburb, who will perform in an adaptation of William Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet." BBC Worldwide France is casting the 20 or so students who will act, dance and sing in the play, under the direction of helmer Alain Sachs. "It's a large-scale project that can introduce younger audiences to (high) culture," Blot said. "We're creating original songs, choreographies and costumes for the program." The show, which will be hosted by French-Moroccan presenter Hicham Nazzal, will follow the teens through the casting process and over three months of rehearsal. The play will be staged at the Odeon Theater in Paris in December, and will air live on France 2, one of the pubcaster's channels. BBC Worldwide France also inked deals with commercial net TF1 and Franco-German channel Arte. Arte commissioned "Photo for Life," a five-part show based on BBC's format "Design for Life," while TF1 picked up the second season of "Dancing With the Stars."
